Clearer, less obstructed views

CONTRAFLAM One boasts Visible Light Transmittance as high as 90%. In fact, its VLT is higher than competitors for all ratings. And the maximum exposed area for 120 minute products is 44.9 square feet.

Allowing more daylight to enter and reach deeper into facilities as well as offering larger views uninterrupted by framing is consistent with biophilic design principles and can improve the mental and physical health of the buildings’ occupants. 

Lightest weight for fastest, easiest installation

Fewer panes of glass and thinner assemblies at higher ratings make CONTRAFLAM One products lighter than any competitors by as much as 31%. Add to this a tolerance of temperatures ranges from -40F to +140F and use of strong tempered glass and you have a product designed to make everyone’s job a little less stressful. Worry-free transport with easier handling and faster installation helps projects stay on budget and on schedule.

Lighter impact on the environment

Sustainability is a core value for Vetrotech, as it is for all Saint-Gobain companies. In addition to increasing clarity and reducing weight, CONTRAFLAM One is revolutionary for its sustainable properties. It comes down to the principle of embodied carbon. Embodied carbon represents carbon emissions released during the lifecycle of building material, from the extraction of the raw materials needed to produce it to processing and disposal of waste at the end of its useful life. Between 65% and 85% of total embodied carbon emissions are produced during the product phase – raw material acquisition, supply and transport and manufacturing.

Because CONTRAFLAM One requires less glass in production than original CONTRAFLAM, its embodied carbon is up to 35% less for the 120 minute product.
