Clear fire-rated safety glass with high impact and mechanical strength for interior & exterior applications
PYROSWISS is the original clear, fire-protective glass technology with full safety glass characteristics. This tempered safety glass features a special edge treatment designed to withstand high thermal stress. This prevents early breakage due to fire, keeping the affected area sealed. Free from UV-sensitive interlayers or embedded wires, PYROSWISS provides high transparency and light transmission, offering design freedom for interior and exterior applications
Attributes & Benefits
- Clear fire-rated safety glass maintains integrity for 20 to 45 minutes starting at 1/4 in thickness for 20 minute rating.
- Impact Safety Rating: ANSI Z97.1, CPSC 16CFR 1201-CAT II, CAN/CGSB - 12.1-M90
- High light transmission values of up to 89%
- Lightweight for easy, secure handling and installation
- Economical, durable, and reliable
Performance
In the event of a fire, PYROSWISS provides an effective barrier against the passage of fire, hot toxic gasses, and smoke. By remaining transparent and full intact, the glass helps allow building occupants to safely escape and rescue service providers to see danger ahead. This accessibility helps first responders more rapidly extinguish fires and evacuate occupants.

Applications
PYROSWISS is a highly tempered fire-protective glazing listed for interior use. Rated for up to 45 minutes, it can be installed in a 1-hour exit corridor as a sidelite and/or transom around a 20-minute fire door, or as a window, provided it does not exceed 25% of the common wall. Pair it with fire protective VDS lite framing and doors to achieve a barrier against flame and hot gasses, allowing occupants the time to escape in the event of fire.
A dedicated project assessment would be needed to determine the right solution for your specific project requirements. For more information, please contact us.
