Vetrotech Design Solutions Fire-Resistive Framing System
The VDS Fire-Resistive framing system brings together engineered steel profiles, doors, partitions, and window frames with fire-rated glazing products to provide code-compliant solutions with custom design flexibility. Complete fire-rated assemblies are tested, listed, and manufactured in the USA. These innovative Fire-Resistive “Knock-Down” systems are designed and assembled similar to traditional non-rated storefront and window wall assembly installation.

Performance
With outstanding safety and performance in one packaged assembly, the VDS Framing System offers the highest level of fire resistance available today. Specially engineered with fire and life safety-rated glazing products in accordance with the International Building Code (IBC) to serve in conjunction with firewalls and fire barriers in occupancy separation, egress corridors, and stairwell enclosures. Vetrotech fire-resistive assemblies are hose stream tested. Available in fire ratings ranging from 60 minutes to three hours, the VDS Framing System is tested and listed with Intertek Testing Services (Warnock Hersey) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and tested in accordance with ASTM E-119, ASTM E2074-00, ASTM E2010-01, NFPA 80, NFPA 251, NFPA 252, NFPA 257, UL9, UL20c, and UL263.
The pre-engineered assembly of the VDS Framing System renders it the optimal choice for the glazier’s installation in the field. VDS Fire-resistive full vision lite doors seamlessly incorporate in the VDS Framing System and are available in ratings ranging from 60-120 minutes, offering expansive glass panels for enhanced visibility and aesthetic appeal. The modular system can be delivered to the construction site fully assembled, reducing on-site assembly. Customers have the option to specify either welded or knock-down assembly, based on their individual preferences. Furthermore, the VDS Framing System has the capacity to accommodate “rated doors by others” allowing specifiers to incorporate any standard U.S. fire-rated door.

Applications
The narrow steel profile and the fire-rated transparency of the glass gives any design distinction, and makes the VDS Framing System excellent for use in numerous venues, such as offices, schools, hotels, athletic facilities, hospitals, assisted living centers, high-end retail shops and more.
Structurally robust with a streamlined look, clean lines and tight tolerances enable longer and higher spans.
