CONTRAFLAM is a single or multi-chamber fire-resistive glass made of two or more layers of toughened safety glass. The cavity between the glass layers is sealed to completely moisture-resistant, is them filled with an environmentally friendly, transparent and UV-stable intumescent interlayer that reacts when exposed to fire. The level of resistance required determines the number of layers of toughened safety glass and interlayers included.
In the event of fire, it offers full heat insulation for the compartmentalization of fire. This product satisfies the highest demands of fire protection while offering robust handling and UV stability, with numerous configurations available.

Performance
When exposed to fire, CONTRAFLAM’s transparent intumescent interlayer expands as an opaque foam to form a barrier to heat. This effectively limits the conduction of heat for up to 180 minutes to block the spread of fire and protect people on the non-fire side. The opaque insulating interlayer also blocks the view of the fire, which minimizes panic and guides emergency services by indicating where the fire is located.
